New appointment – Group Executive, Operations

Simon Greaves has been appointed as Group Executive, Operations, for PET.

Simon has been acting in an interim capacity in this role, pending the retirement at the end of February 2022 of Andrew Winks.

The Group Executive, Operations role is a critical role for the business. Primarily, this role is responsible for all sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, distribution, supply chain and HSE across the global businesses of PET. The role also has a coordination function to ensure all global applications are delivered to agreed global standards.

Before moving to Australia, Simon started his career in the UK, working for Allied Lyons, a major brewer. Initially, as a distribution graduate trainee, finishing seven years later as manager of a very large beer distribution operation on the outskirts of London. In Australia, he spent a short period with TNT Air Couriers before joining the chemicals business of ICI Australia, which later became Orica Chemicals and then Ixom – a $1B turnover business.

In his 27 years with those businesses, his roles covered warehousing, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing and the functional leadership of HSE and Process Improvement teams across regions including Australia, New Zealand and Chile. He was a member of the Businesses and Groups leadership team for 16 years, playing a key role in 10 business acquisitions and integrations and the divestment of Ixom from Orica.

For the last five years, he has undertaken several consulting roles, has worked for the Victorian Electoral Commission as a Senior Election Official and is currently Chairman of the Lost Dogs Home in Melbourne.

Simon will be based in the Melbourne head office. We look forward to his contribution to the business and welcome him to the PET group.
